Why Can I Not Play Black Ops 3 Online
Stuck in LAN and cant play online
Everytime i open my game up, i go to play online and it says im stuck in LAN and i can't connect to Black Ops 3 servers. I have checked my internet settings and made sure everything was okay, im connected to the internet and PSN. Can anyone help?

Same here and its been 3 days. Im on Xbox One and Im stuck on 37.0.0.0. and waited over 2 hours on the main screen to no avail. Apparently Activision couldn't give two shits about its customer. Even when I could connect, it was a struggle to connect with a party of 3 or more. This launch has been a joke and I didnt even get the game until last week.

Same boat as OP. However, I still have PS+ subscription and I wait till my version numbers change. Still no dice. I get the error that I can't access servers and error in PSN network. Help please.

In case anyone finds this thread and is on Xbox, I had the same problem where it said I was in Lan mode. Fixed it by hitting the Xbox button and then hit start, then quit the game and restart it.

So when your in the PS4 Main Menu highlight Black Ops 3 and click the Options button and hit Close Application then reopen it. That's what worked for me.

Everytime I try to play online it just opens a pop up thats blank and closes automatically, I can't play online anything or even click it.
EDIT: I am on ps4 and have the latest 1.02 update.

Dude I am having the EXACT SAME PROBLEM. Your post needs to get more comments, so we can get this thing fixed. It has literally been a week since I last played because of the same issue you're having.

I'm getting stuck in the LAN screen and every time I try to connect online, I get the error code ab.c.xxx..... My connection is perfectly fine, and I can play other games online without any trouble, but Black Ops 3 will not work for me.

Either your PSN ran out or you're just not waiting for the version number the change before pressing "x". When you load up the game and get to the "press x to continue" screen, wait until the numbers in your top right corner switch from 33.0.0, to 33.19. etc... :) Hope this helps!

Do you need PS Plus to play online?

When you first open up your game you have to wait at the menu that says press x to start. If you look in the top right corner you will see a number that's something like 33.0.0.0 you just have to wait somewhat under a minute until the number changes and you should be able to go online. Saying all this you do need ps plus or Xbox live to play online aswell.

Does anyone have any solutions to this other than waiting for the numbers to change? That didn't help at all, still cannot play online

have you tried a wired connection? / do you have playstation plus? my buddy got a wired connection and playstation plus and it fixed it for him

Exactly the same problem. The game was fine for 2-3hrs, then downloaded the season pass with extra maps etc. Again was fine then turned off the machine came back and now it only allows a LAN game !!!! It says if you click on the online table "You do not have permission to play online" I have tried a wired and wireless connection, 60mb download and 30mb up. All other games work fine apart from this. This isn't the first time either !! With Advanced warfare it all of a sudden a started the "No games found issue which remains to this day" I have tried to contact Activision and no surprise they don't reply. Your games are full of coding bugs and suck considering the profits you make. Any help would be appreciated !!

I knew that I should have gotten Halo 5 Instead ACTIVISION HAS ALWAYS SUCKED AT PATCHING THERE FREAKING GAMES. I mean they don't care about PC users or console users they just release the game and once in a while fix it when they have to except this time they want to leave the game unplayable I would imagine they should not have released the game with some many game breaking bugs. I mean ACTIVISION it has been a couple months and the game still has a bug that renders the game useless I legit think that this is the worst thing because I don't Know if Xbox One got hacked by the Lizard Squad Or if they just got shut down due to technical issues I don't Know if my Xbox Live expired because Xbox One does not make it clear at all and on top of it I don't Know if there is a bug With BO3 Or if its my Xbox Live I don't know if its my Router So lets review. I've been playing fine for weeks and now I can't play for the same reason.

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM BUT I FOUND A FIX!!!! (this may not work for you but aleast try) Open black ops 3 let it load and press x or a and wait for it to say cannot connect then close the application and go to settings , network and switch from lan to wifi or wifi to lan depending on what you are running and then start up Bo3 and wait for the numbers to change and then press x or a and it should work and change back to lan or wifi (if it doesnt try once more this sometimes happens) (If you dont have lan just switch it to lan and back to wifi) The game should after 20 seconds disconnect you from cod servers BUT dont worry you can still connect to services after you complete these steps. Tell me if this worked and if any bugs just tell me.
